Hedgerow

These individual cakes are fun to make and even more fun to give away! They are always really appreciated and a neater alternative on occasions when a 'proper' cake feels a little over the top. Try these next time you want to say 'Thank you' to someone who made a difference :-)

Basket of flowers and butterflies

This birthday cake was a vanilla bean and strawberry cake; set in a basket weave and covered with individual sugar roses and butterflies.

Duck and polka dots for Baby Daniel

I made this cake for a friend who was having a small gathering at home to celebrate the arrival of Baby Daniel. It contains a white chocolate sponge cake with a tangy passion fruit filling.
Welcome Baby D :-)

Christmas market 2012

Christmas cakes I made for a Christmas market helt yesterday in Valetta. They were all rich, traditional fruitcakes, soaked and fed in brandy.

Lemon and poppyseed cake with garden flowers

I love cakes with citrusfruit and poppyseeds. This is a lovely moist cake which has been drizzled with icing and topped with garden flowers, bumblebees and ladybirds. This one was for my daughter's teacher, and she really loved it :-).

Individual pink rosebud cakes

These little ones are sweet to have as individual portions for wedding guests. They can be presented on a cakestand on their own or be combined with a small matching cake for the wedding couple to cut. They are also suitable for a christening.
